There are 3 AVI format videos available that showcase Z at the MTV awards televised on June 7th, 2001.
The first two show Z with David Spade as presenters in a very funny comedy skit. These
two files are 12MB and 5MB in size, repectively. The third AVI shows Z accepting the award
for best Fight Scene. It is 16 MB in size. This appearance on the MTV Awards ceremony marks her first known public effort to speak in English to an American audience. These AVI files should run on any copy of Windows 98 Windows Media Player having a standard mpeg4 codec.

This login area will take you to a password controlled page from which members can download the complete videos
of Zhang Ziyi's earliest works. Four films are available. They include the entire sub-titled
version of Zhang Ziyi's classic 1999 film, The Road Home, as well as the only English sub-titled version
of her earliest known movie, Touching Starlight. Both are approximately 90 minutes long. Also available is the
complete sub-titled version of Musa, the 2002 Korean epic film in which she also starred. New to the collection is the
2003 film Purple Butterfly, which has been English Subtitled.
Note that The Road Home is about 530 megabytes in size and Musa is almost 1 GB. Both require the DIVX codec, which is available on the download page. Touching Starlight is available in standard MPEG-1, and is almost twice the size of tRH, at about 1 GB. Purple Butterfly is almost 1.4 GB in size and uses the XVID Codec, also available through the download page. Click on The Road Home or Touching Starlight or Musa or Purple Butterfly to invoke the password screen. Special login credentials are required that are different from the messageboard login. The following MPG's are commercial video clips of the Korean 2% Bottled Water product in which Z does her promotional thing. These clips are part of a series, most of which are bizarre by western standards, but these particular clips are a few of the better commercials you'll see her in. The last clip is a 5 minute .AVI (28MB) on the making of the 2% commercial series. It is highly illuminating, as it shows the absolute professionalism with which Z approaches her craft. Note that she is able to shed tears on cue, which is indicative of her incredible theatrical skills. If your browser cannot automatically launch an MPG viewer, just do a File/Save and download the clip first, then launch an MPG Viewer application and just load in the file. The Making Of... clip should play in any Microsoft Media Player having the DIVX codec.
Excerpts from the Rush Hour 2 DVD
Featuring Zhang Ziyi Trailers
The following three clips, rendered in the
QuickTime version 5 .MOV format,
show previews of what the Rush Hour 2 DVD feature clips contain (apart from the movie, of course).
These behind-the-scenes clips show Z on the set of Rush Hour 2, playing around with cast and crew.
We can assure you, she had a blast doing this film!
DINING OUT - The Fabulous VISA Commercial
These clips document one of the greatest commercials ever made. They include both the 2 minute and 1 minute
versions of the commercial itself along with a 3 minute behind-the-scenes look by a local news team out of
the Phillipines. The 2 minute version is available in both 320x240 lo-res and 640x480 hi-res.
Shot in Hong Kong with Australian film direction, it is a stunning example of the future of
high impact advertising at its very best.
The clips are presented here in both the ASF and DIVX AVI formats. By special request, a QuickTime MOV format version is
also available. This MOV format, of necessity, is broken up into 2 files consisting of the original commercial and a separate 'making of' clip. 'Dining Out' 2 minute, ASF Streaming 320x240 lo-res, 4.5MB 'Dining Out' 4 minute AVI format, DIVX codec, 21MB 'Dining Out' 2 minute WMV format, 640x480 hi-res, 22MB 'Dining Out' 1 minute MOV format, MPEG4 codec, 25MB 'The Making Of' 3 minute MOV format, MPEG4 codec, 65MB
Ziyi At Work - The Making of tRH This features clip was found at the end of an ASF version for The Road Home. It shows Zhang Yimou in top form as one of the world's premier film directors. Z is of course the star of tRH and she is shown in this features clip. One of the scenes from this clip shows her falling in the snow. We know this particular scene was re-shot over 100 times, with Z injuring herself in the process. She refused to give up and the resulting film is universally admired as one of the great motion pictures ever to come out of China.
The CCTV interview - A to Z This Chinese television documentary interviews Ms. Zhang Ziyi in a biographical format. At nearly half an hour, it is a fascinating indepth look into her world as only she can descibe it. It is NOT, at this time, translated however. You can click on the link to start streaming play on any Windows compatible Media Player or right-click on the link and 'Save Target As' to download the file. Be warned, this 'clip' is very large and will require some time to download.
The Second VISA commercial
This is the second high impact commercial Ms. Zhang has done for Visa International. This time, the emphasis is on
Pierce Brosnan, who happens to get himself stuck in traffic. What happens next is hilarious, which ends with the 007
character meeting Ms. Zhang for a date.

Part 1 - QuickTime 2.8MB
There are two clips show approximately 30 minutes of a Chinese version of Who Want's To Be A Millionaire that are available. In these clips, Z competed for prize money to be dedicated to cancer research in a charity episode of the game show. This AVI version requires the DIVX codec. For those unable to cope with DIVX, a 2 part MPG version (totaling 280 MB) is also made available.
Part 1 - AVI DIVX 74MB
At the first annual MTV/Asia Awards of 2002, Zhang Ziyi picked up yet another award for CTHD, representing Director Ang Lee. She was ostensibly there as only a presenter and was unprepared to accept any award. What is most surprising is the level of English she used, showing the world that she is progressing rapidly in this most difficult language.
MTV/ASia Awards - AVI DIVX 44MB
The following three video clips are from a Japanese Television piece. They show rare moments of Ziyi having fun on the town. The introductory clip is followed by insights into what all girls love to do - shopping and hair styling!
JapanTV Intro - AVI DIVX 10MB
The following two video clips are from an amateur fan shooting with a camcorder. The quality is very poor and is provided simply for archival purposes. The occasion is a autograph signing session that Ms. Zhang conducted at the Macy's Department Store Tag Heuer watch counter at Union Square in San Francisco during the first week of May of 2002. Hundreds of fans showed up after a tiny advertisement was placed in the local paper.
Macy's Intro - AVI 3.4MB
This is the official trailer to the Purple Butterfly film, which stars Zhang Ziyi in a tale of intrigue set in 1930's China during the Japanese occupation. Directed by Lou Ye, it portrays the adventures of a band of heroic resistance fighters known by the code name Purple Butterfly.
